We listen to everything sent our way. Frisson Radio exists to give Canadian artists, producers and DJs a platform, and a good portion of what airs each week arrives through this form.
Before you send
Clean radio edits
Anything played on FM radio has to be a clean edit, with any swearing censored. We’re happy to listen to explicit tracks, but if you have a clean version, send that one. It saves us a step and makes it far more likely your track makes it to air quickly.
What we’ll need
Artist name, the track or album title, and a link to stream or download it. Your email and Instagram so we can find you, and a website if you have one. There’s room to tell us about yourself, which we do read.
Canadian content
Canadian FM shows are required to fill 40 percent of their airtime with Canadian content, so it helps to know whether your track qualifies. It counts if any one of these is true:
- Music
- composed entirely by a Canadian
- Artist
- performed principally by a Canadian, in music or lyrics
- Performance
- recorded wholly in Canada, or performed wholly in Canada and broadcast live here
- Lyrics
- written entirely by a Canadian
A remix by a Canadian producer counts, which catches more people out than you’d think.
